A few hints and tips :)
Hi everyone
I have been playing GW on and off since the first Beta and i must say i have only just recently got into the game "i know 5 years a bit late", so my favourite character so far i must say is my E/Mo and i have been looking around PVX for some good farming specs and overall good specs and i came across the 330hp E Farmer spec.
So after finally getting all but one of the items (totem axe) i have replaced this with a temporary axe until i acquire one i went out to test the build, i guess what i am asking is if people have used this build recently and if it has been successful, i have had mixed results and it seems that i am too much of an old noob to be able to effectively pull this build off at present at some decent locations. So if you have used this spec some hints/tips would be great as i have watched the video a couple of times now with not much help :P
I am also going to read around and see what others have recommended as i have seen a few other fun specs to play.
Thanks in advance

all specific builds like godis said often have specific places - 55 monks are gd in places with no enchant strip for example.
What players often forget to consider when they see builds on youtube and a few times on pvx is the videos age and how old it is.Then the mistake is made of thinking the build works when it may not due to skill buffs/nerfs that effect both you and foes.Once in a while i hear players ask about the old w/rt farming dcores only because they seen it on youtube and when you try to explain it was nerfed 2 yrs ago they cant understand why as its on youtube so it must work.
there is a sticky on farming section that used to cover a variety of builds on all professions for farming - tho some are now nerfed it may be worth looking at the ele section and noting where places are and then checking foes on wiki for their skills - may take a bit of time but you will find what places will work.

cheers for the info muchly appreciated, i have been looking at the guides that have been provided in the ele threads too, alot to work through as i am trying to learn alot quickly in the PVE world and then there is the can of worms that is the pvp world...
I was going to give the spec a try in the Underworld using a variant of it as i believe this should work, i am also looking around to find some general specs for E/Mo as a fire spec is boring me now.. i will keep looking around tho thanks!

Also, you said you were using a "temporary axe" until you get the totem axe. What are the stats on it? Does it have the 20% enchant lengthening? Because that's the important part of the totem axe, not the fact that it's an axe.

I use Galigords Stone Staff instead of an axe and instead of Balthazar's Spirit I use Ether Renewal and spam Stone Daggers

There won't be any difference between 19% and 20% unless you have an enchantment that lasts more than 50 seconds. Don't worry about getting a 20%. The other thing the Totem Axe adds is +5e, but that is only majorly important if actually need it. More energy is good but better energy management is what counts.
Looking at this: http://pvx.wikia.com/wiki/Build:E/Mo...ntalist_Farmer
You should have more energy in Hard Mode as you'll be getting hit more often and so be getting more energy from Balth Spirit.

Thanks for all of the replies all, a friend is going to try to get the axe for me with his war/ranger and its good to know that the 19% should suffice.
I am trying to get a good overall build for E/Mo as at the moment i am using what i believe to be "good" spells and that does not seem to be the case so while i am in EOTN i am trying to acquire the relative skills that should help me along.
I have seen a few suggested builds on the forum but does anyone have some favourite ones for E/Mo? (mainly solo spec as friends are not always on at the same time)
